Welcome
This site explores the artwork of Marty Maehr, from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois and currently based out of
Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is an evolving collection of art, ideas, influences, and thoughts.
As a young bird will struggle before leaving its nest, often times concerning itself with food that
will make it strong and able for the long run, with an emphasis on developing its wings and preparing for
an uncertain flight, so like, this site embodies the creative process as it is evolving.

La Galleria Il Borgo (the "Village Gallery") is located in a historic village of Milan Corso San Gottardo, in the city center of the busy district of Navigli, a few steps from Porta Ticinese. The room grows vertically, has a perimeter lighting and overlooks one of the typical villages of old Milan. The gallery promotes new trends in contemporary art in its many creative expressions. We have exhibited internationally renowned artists such as Salvatore Fiume and Carmelo Lizzi. “Less than perfect... More than imperfect”

Somewhere between the divide of perfection and imperfection, there seems to be a
space that is less than perfect, yet more than imperfect. It is this space, or frame of mind,
that was the recurring theme behind the creation of my series of paintings.
